Welcome To Our Sensory Classroom

Sensory Integration is the ability to take in, sort out and connect information delivered by the five senses.

Less familiar sensory systems known as vestibula and prorioceptive senses are considered to be body-centered. These senses operate without conscious thought and cannot be observed by the
naked eye. Together the senses need to
work smoothly for proper functioning and motor planning.

If children have issues with modulating different sensory input, one will see effects in their behavior. They become over stimulated by the sensory information and have decreased attention, focus and self-control.

Our occupational therapist, Dr. Eric Polz, guides the children through activities that normally challenge their ability to respond appropriately.
