Welcome To
Mrs. Gau's Classroom

I grew up on Put-in-Bay, a small island in Lake Erie. While many people have visited Put-in-Bay in the summer, few people have done so in the winter. This is because the only way to get there after the lake freezes is by airplane. I have 2 brothers and 1 sister, and we all attended Put-in-Bay school, a small school with about 80 students, K-12. Our dad was the principal and history teacher.
After high school, I went to Bowling Green State University where I received my teaching degree. It was at Bowling Green State University where I met my husband Bil. Bil is a sixth grade teacher too! We were married right after graduation and both employed by Anthony Wayne School District. I worked at Anthony Wan ye for 5 years, first as a special education tutor and then as a junior high math teacher. When we started our family, I decided to stay at home full-time to raise our children. We have two kids, Tanner(12) and Zeke (9).
After Zeke started school, I was fortunate to become part of the faculty at Mary Immaculate School. I have really enjoyed being a teacher at this school for the past three years. My favorite part about Mary Immaculate is that it is a school where the students are valued and treasured-a school where students can learn!
